Tinctures are highly concentrated liquid mixtures meant for oral ingestion.
They are manufactured from raw herbs whose medicinal qualities are either
extracted in an alcohol base or a vegetable glycerin base. Most herbs
can be extracted in alcohol, but some only extract in water. Because of
this, Longevity Herbs uses a water-alcohol solution so that every herb
in the formula gets completely extracted. The solutions are stored in
a dark room while they steep. When the solution is ready the concentrated
liquid is extracted through an herb press and then filtered and bottled.
In general, tinctures have a very long shelf life.
